Earlier this summer, the International Olympic Committee ushered LA into the second round of bidding alongside three European cities; on September 13, 2017, the IOC will make its final decision in Lima, Peru—and we hope it’s in favor of the City of Angels!

Few things are more compelling than a high-stakes athletic event; and this weekend, Los Angeles will be treated to two. On Saturday, February 13th, approximately 250 women and 200 men will vie for a spot on the U.S. Marathon team by running a 26.2 mile course beginning and ending at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The top three finishers in each gender division will be appointed to the U.S. Olympic team for 2016’s Rio De Janeiro. On Sunday, February 14th, runners will take on the 31st Los Angeles Marathon.

Downtown Burbank has long been known for its exceptionally warm temperatures during fall, making it hard to believe that going ice skating outdoors is actually a possibility. Fortunately, though, in just a few short weeks, the Rink in Downtown Burbank is going to be reopened. Those who have used the rink in years past have always given it high levels of praise. Merchants and restaurants located in downtown Burbank also benefit from the rink because it increases traffic in the area.

It’s that time of year again. The Turkey Trot 2015 is right around the corner, and there’s never been a better time to join in on all of the fun. When running in the 5K/10K Turkey Trot, you’ll be joining elite runners, costumed revelers, casual joggers, and many other Turkey Trot enthusiasts. Well known as a family-friendly holiday tradition, all funds received during the Turkey Trot are handed over to the Burbank Community YMCA, which helps keep all programs up and running.
