Get Ready to Rock: Made in America Festival 2014
Looking for the perfect way to ease those end-of-summer blues? Check out the Made in America Festival! Taking place right next door in LA on August 30th and 31st, the festival will feature top music artists such as Kanye West, Imagine Dragons, John Mayer, Iggy Azalea, Weezer, Steve Aoki, Rise Against, and so many more.
The gates at L.A. Grand Park will open right at noon for a full day of music and camaraderie, and tickets can be purchased online in one-day or two-day passes.
Just in case you haven’t experienced the excitement of a music festival of this size before, here are some tips to keep in mind:
1. Make your own personal schedule
With 41 artists scheduled to perform over just two days, there’s no way you’ll be able to see everyone’s full set. You need to set your priorities and figure out which performances are an absolute must. Beware: there’s a very good chance that two of your favorite artists will be scheduled at the same exact time at different stages. I know, it’s heartbreaking, but scheduling ahead of time will enable you prepare for this situation and act accordingly.
2. Wear comfortable clothing
Sure, the Internet makes it seem like all festival-goers wander around barefoot in their bikinis. The reality? LA in August can get pretty hot in the afternoon and pretty chilly at night. Play it safe and wear layers. You’ll thank yourself at the end of the night when everyone around you is complaining about the cold instead of listening to the music and you’re wearing the flannel you stuffed in your bag. Oh, and don’t forget footwear. Something sturdy and comfortable. Avoid the flip-flops, as they’re prone to breaking (especially if it rains!)
3. Have an open mind
Literally anything can happen at this festival. You might run into someone from Weezer while watching Imagine Dragons. You might find yourself at the front row of the Kanye West set. You might meet the love of your life, or a new lifelong best friend. Just embrace the festival atmosphere and go with the flow.
Oh, and don’t forget to book your accommodations right here at Hotel Amarano. We’re just a short 20-minute drive from the festival grounds in Grand Park!
