The Amarano Beat

Your Hollywood Bowl Hotel

The Hotel Amarano lies smack dab in the Entertainment Capital of the World, with iconic production studios, filming locations, and amusement parks in our sunny Burbank neighborhood.

Also close at hand? One of the best-known performance venues in the country: the legendary Hollywood Bowl.

The Hollywood Bowl: Decades of Prestige

Framed by the Hollywood Hills (and that blazing-white Hollywood Sign), the outdoor amphitheater has seen a staggering lineup of heavy-hitting performers take its stage since it opened shop back in 1929: from Ella Fitzgerald and Luciano Pavarotti to the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Monty Python, and Kanye West. (Plus Garrison Keillor closed out his captainship of A Prairie Home Companionhere last summer.)

From the many summer shows put on by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic to a typically top-level roster of touring musicians, this season has much still in store for you to enjoy. Combining a show at this hallowed amphitheater with deluxe accommodations, dinner, and drinks at the Hotel Amarano—well, that’s match-made-in-heaven territory!

Upcoming Hollywood Bowl Events

One glance at the Hollywood Bowl calendar for the coming couple of months reveals quite the spectrum of genres, styles, and experiences spotlighted—as always.

On July 21 and 22, the funk levels get way cranked up with a triple attack by Kool and the Gang, Morris Day and the Time, and the Village People. On the 23rd, it’s Sondheim on Sondheim: a sweeping and stirring romp through the catalog of one of our era’s foremost composers and lyricists, steered by Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Classical Thursdays, meanwhile, treat audiences to some of the sturdiest melodies ever penned throughout the summer, and on July 27 the featured masters are Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Franz Liszt. That comes followed up the mega-hit musical Mamma Mia! (July 28 through July 30), the Indiana Jones classic Raiders of the Lost Ark backed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s live performance of the John Williams score (August 4 and 5), and a veritable indie feast on August 6 courtesy of Belle and Sebastian, Spoon, and Kristin Kontrol, with Jason Bentley of KCRW the ringmaster.
