Official Hotel for Halloween Horror Nights
This time of year, the world-famous amusement park Universal Studios Hollywood—mere minutes from Hotel Amarano—takes a hard turn to the ghoulish courtesy of one of L.A.’s most sought-after scare-fests: Halloween Horror Nights. The frightful fun is going down through early November, so you’ve got plenty of time to soak up our boutique Burbank luxury—we’re one of the event’s official hotels, mind you—while scaring your socks off over on a completely Halloween-ified Universal Studios lot!
Halloween Horror Nights 2018 at Universal Studios Hollywood
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights promises to be more blood-curdling and scream-inducing than ever. Come nightfall, the Universal Studios park turns into a mega-scale, world-class haunted house comprised of no fewer than eight freaky mazes and five “Scare Zones” sure to make even the steeliest-nerved jump a little.
The Halloween Horror Nights mazes are themed around iconic horror franchises, movies, and TV shows. This year’s lineup includes a Stranger Things maze based on the hit Netflix series, plus Poltergeist, The First Purge, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, a Walking Dead zone, Trick ‘r Treat, The Horrors of Blumhouse: Chapter Two, and Universal Monsters, featuring such classic bogeymen as Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, and the Wolf Man, plus an original score from SLASH.
Then there are the Scare Zones, which include the Parisian-flavored Monster Masquerade drawing upon The Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame for inspiration; the bewitched dolls of Hell’s Harvest, and a Halloween-style infection of other seasonal traditions in Holidayz in Hell.
And don’t forget the ever-popular Terror Tram cruising a spookified Universal Studios backlot and under the dominion of the demented clown Hollywood Harry.
Halloween Horror Nights also features live, lasery performances from the masked hip-hop dance crew Jabbawockeez.
Halloween Horror Nights Basics
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood kicked off on September 14th and runs on select dates through November 3rd: Thursdays through Sundays, plus a few Wednesdays as well—Halloween itself, of course, included. The action begins at 7 PM and goes till 1 or 2 AM, depending on the date.
The event doesn’t enforce an age restriction, but its vivid scares aren’t intended for children under the age of about 13 years old. Definitely use your discretion, and consult the Halloween Horror Nights FAQ for more details on what to expect so you can gauge whether or not this is something for you.
